About this event
As in previous years we will be presenting a showcase of the world-class infectious disease research in Edinburgh, and very much hope that you will be able to join us.
We will be using the Collaborate platform to deliver the event, which will allow the talks and poster sessions to be interactive.
To ease screen-strain, we have split the event over two days - the afternoon of Tuesday 10 November and the morning of Wednesday 11 November - and have an excellent programme of talks and poster presentations each day.
Poster presentations
One of the highlights of the physical symposium are the poster sessions. We will be continuing this tradition by using virtual breakout spaces so that each presenter can talk about their poster with attendees.
Please note that there will poster sessions on both days, with a maximum of 20 presenters in each session.
And this year we will be asking you, the attendees, to vote on your favourite posters in order to award the prizes for the best student and postdoc poster.
Lightening talks
We are also inviting students and postdocs to give lightening talks (max 3 min, 1 slide) about their work. When registering, please indicate whether you would like to be considered for a presentation, and include the title of your talk, and a 50-word summary.
Deadline for registration for oral presentations is Wednesday 28 October and we will select presenters by Friday 30 October.
If register after 28 October, please note that we will not be able to consider you for a lightening talk.

Please note: we are holding the Symposium online, we are able to increase the total numbers attending the main presentation sessions to 500. However because we want the posters to be interactive, these sessions are limited to 250.
